Manchester City right-back Pablo Zabaleta shows his support to Manchester United and his team-mate in national side Argentina Angel di Maria ahead of Manchester derby this weekend.
Despite making a promising start to his Manchester United’s career, Angel di Maria has struggled to live up to his reputation and a sudden dip of form have seen him benched often than expected throughout the season.
Despite having rough patch this season, di Maria managed 10 assists making him second best play-maker in Premier League behind Cesc Fabregas who assisted 16 goals this season.
The 27-year old have also been benched in the last two games of Red Devils as Juan Mata and Ander Herrera made strong statements with their performances recently.
Pablo Zabaleta, his fellow Argentine, feels that di Maria will show his class again and will have bright future at Manchester United.
He said: “I have met Angel a few times in Manchester and obviously spoken when we’ve been on international duty together and it’s been a very tough season for him not only on the field but off it as well and that has made things hard for his family.
“Sometimes when you are in a different country it can take time to settle well and because his price tag was so high, that also adds a lot of pressure, but I have no doubts he will become a big success for United because he’s a top quality player and if he’s not at his best at the moment, he’s still a great asset to have.
“He’s quick, fast and a great dribbler and whenever you play against him you know you are in for a difficult game and he’s the sort of player who can really hurt you if you give him too much space and time.”
