Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has revealed youngsters Charly Musonda and Kenedy could be staying at Stamford Bridge for the reminder of the season if they feature against Brentford in FA Cup tomorrow.
Both the youngsters were recalled from their loan deals last month as they could have a good role to play in the Chelsea team this season. Musonda was at Real Betis in the first half of the season while Kenedy spent his time with Premier League outfit Watford on loan since the start of the season.
Kenedy and Musonda are two of the brightest young players Chelsea have in their roster but the duo have struggled for game time in their loan spells so far this season.
However, despite their struggles in the first half of the season both the youngsters were linked with loan moves in the recent weeks but Conte has revealed that they could be staying with the team if they manage to play for the club in the FA Cup tomorrow.
Conte said: “For sure if tomorrow Kenedy or Musonda play only one second they must stay with us for the rest of the season, the players know this, I do. I know this.
“But I think that they are two young players with good projects.
“For sure this level is a high level. But they have a good will to fight, to try to improve, to work.
“If we take this decision for them to stay here the players will be very happy.”
Chelsea are known for their youth policy as they send their talent pool to various clubs across Europe on loan deals. Kenedy particularly was considered one of the finest talents when the Brazilian made the move to Chelsea last year. But he has struggled to live up to the expectations and will be looking to make the most of the opportunities he gets in the coming days.
