As per the report from Daily Express, Arsenal target and AS Monaco midfielder Joao Moutinho has been told he can leave the club this summer. The 28-year old has been a significant contributor to team’s success since his move to the club back in 2013 from Porto.

The French giants Monaco are currently in the process of reducing their expenditures as they have been sanctioned by FFP regulations recently and wants to offload Moutinho as his £110,000-per-week wages are a heavy burden to the club at the moment.

Monaco have recently sent Radamel Falcao on loan to Chelsea as they look to sell him as well. Moutinho has drawn interest from former employers Porto and Russian giants Zenit St Petersburg.

However, it is a well known open secret that the player have always admired to play in Premier League and Arsenal are reportedly favorites to sign him. The Gunners have failed to sign their primary transfer targets Vidal, Schneiderlin and Kondogbia.

Mathieu Flamini is expected to leave to Galatasaray in the coming days which leaves new sensation Francis Coquelin as the only defensive minded central midfielder. The addition of Moutinho is key for Arsenal as they are looking to win Premier League next season with their squad.

Moutinho’s experience will surely make a huge difference for Arsenal in their midfield if the player is willing to sign.
