Arsene Wenger is under pressure this summer to get some big names into his squad ahead of the next season and has been linked with a move for some of the best talents in Europe in recent times.
Though he has already added Granit Xhaka to the midfield, the Gunners are set to lose a number of midfielders from the squad who have impressed the manager in the last few seasons.
This has seen the cub linked with top quality midfielders with Inter Milan’s Marcelo Brozovic now once again back on the radar.
The English club have been long-term admirers of the Croatian international who once again impressed in his outings with his country in the recent EURO16.
The 28-year old is also a transfer target for Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool who are in search of a midfielder to partner Emre Can in the first team next season.
He is known for his tactical ability and his dominating play in the midfield. He is a player who has gained loads of experience in his time in Italy and though is not really popular, is one of the best players in his position.
His style of play also suits the Premier League and has naturally attracted interests from two of the top clubs in the English domestic league in Arsenal and Liverpool.
The Gunners will want to get their man this summer to add some mettle to their midfield but will have to pay heavily to the Italian side to get them to let go off their star.
The midfielder is contracted to the Serie A club until 2019 and is expected to cost around £25m and Wenger is said to be leaning towards a bid for the player in the upcoming days.
It will be an interesting move by Wenger who is also in the market for a midfielder but he will need the kind of experience and ability that Brozovic will bring to his midfield if he wants his club to fight for the Premier League title next season.
With the Merseyside rivals also vying for signature, Wenger will have to act fast if he wants the 28-year old to be a part of his squad next season.
Do you think Marcelo Brozovic is a good addition to the Gunners?
