Hoffenheim’s young german star Philipp Ochs is on Arsenal manager’s radar following his standout performances for his country.
According to a report from German media outlet Bild, the Gunners sent two scouts to the Under-19 Euros to watch the young winger in action.
Despite the hosts crashing out in the group stage, they are quite impressed with Ochs’ impact after he netted a stunning hat-trick during a 4-3 defeat to Portugal.
The Hoffenheim star has been tipped as one of the brightest prospects to emerge through the Bundesliga in recent times and is waiting for a bright future since making his club debut last season.
Gunners boss Wenger now wants to move quickly to secure his service with Ochs’ reputation rapidly attracting other European giants.
Ochs’ vast potential has seen him make 13 appearances for his club’s senior side in the Bundesliga as they finished 15th last season.
His agent Arthur Beck said: “Philip has attracted attention with strong performances – not only now at the European Championships.”
Manager Arsene Wenger is renowned for his ability to spot talented young players and for allowing them to reach their potential – with players such as Thierry Henry, Cesc Fabregas and Ashley Cole all benefiting from his coaching.
The Gunners are also looking to boost their attack with players who are already in the peak of their powers
The youngster could be a valuable asset to Arsenal’s attacking threat with his ability to play on both wings or as a striker.
Wenger has so far made just two signings this summer – Granit Xhaka and Japanese talent Takuma Asano but still digging deep in the transfer market for another striker while Higuain and Mauro Icardi strongly linked.
