Arsenal have been told to splash £22 million if they want to sign Pedro who has been linked with Liverpool and Manchester United earlier in the summer. According to the reports from Spanish newspaper AS, Pedro has set his sights on moving to Emirates next season following his lack of playing time at Camp Nou.

Ever since Luis Suarez’s arrival from Liverpool has limited Pedro’s time on the pitch. Even though Barcelona consider Pedro as an important part of their squad but are willing to cut him loose for a right price.

Arsenal have been monitoring Pedro’s situation at Barcelona since last summer. Arsenal did make enquiries to sign Pedro in the summer but now have a clear path in signing Pedro next transfer window with Pedro growing increasingly frustrated at Barcelona. Now Arsenal have been clearly told to cough up £22million to sign Pedro next summer.

Earlier in the week, on being asked about not playing enough and Pedro said: “It’s difficult to be 100% happy, but I feel comfortable here,”

“Those who have fewer minutes want to play. I don’t know if they’ll ask me to leave. I’m happy here and I want to continue but I don’t know what might happen tomorrow.

We’ll talk at the end of the season.”

Pedro has only played 11 of the 25 league matches this season and his growing time on the bench will eventually see him leave Camp Nou and move to Premier League next season. Arsenal would seem the ideal fit for Pedro as he has prior experience of playing with Alexis Sanchez and it will add increased degree of threat going forward.

Pedro’s contract runs till 2016 and the ideal scenario for Barcelona would be to keep him due to the transfer ban implied on the Catalan club. If they lose the Spanish winger they will not be able to replace him in their squad.
