In what comes as a huge blow for Arsenal football club, Bayern Monchengladbach boss Rudi Voller has said that the star striker Xavier Hernandez will not be sold this January.
Arsenal, one of the clubs who are expected to be busy in January after a subdued summer window are linked with a number of top class players and Hernandez is one such star whose transfer is now ruled out.
According to multiple reports, Chilean international who has been impressed with the striker’s performance in Germany has asked his manager to bring him to Emirates and the form of the striker is said to have tempted Arsenal to go for the transfer.
However, according to the Daily Star, Rudi Voller was quoted saying, “We’re not selling Chicharito to Arsenal or anyone else. He’s not for sale.”
With 19 goals from 22 games for the German outfit this season, Chicharito who made a permanent move from Manchester Untied this summer was rumored to be back on his way to the EPL but Monchengladbach will be hoping to keep the player in their books after his impressive return that sees the club in the 5th place going into the New Year.
However, in compliance with the rules of FIFA, even if Arsenal sign the striker, he will not be able to play for the club because of the restrictions. The FIFA regulations allow a player to be registered in a maximum of three clubs in a season.
However he will be officially eligible to play for just two clubs and Chicharito has already played for Untied and Leverkusen this season.
This gives Arsenal and other big clubs a chance to snatch him up in the summer but if he can keep up his form, he will be valued at 25 million according to the Bleacher Report.
The 28 year old was a bargain buy for Leverkusen at just 8 million and may be tempted in the summer to sell him but Chicharito is staying in Germany till the end of the season.
