Arsene Wenger is looking at prospects all over the Europe to fill in the midfield role especially since Coquelin and Cazorla were ruled out with injuries and one such name to pop up is Adrien Rabiot. Rabiot is a Paris Saint-Germain player and has been linked with Arsenal countless times over the last couple of years. A major reason for that is the lack of opportunities afforded to the youngster over his time at the Paris club which has left the talented pass master frustrated with his current situation.
Wenger is aware of the developments over in France will be trying to leverage the situation to his best of interests as he looks to prise away the youngster from PSG on a cut-price deal or on a loan deal, whichever is deemed suitable by the negotiating parties.
Wenger has kept Victor Wanyama, Ruben Neves, William Carvalho and Granit Xhaka amongst his list of options over the upcoming window. A major minus point for this transfer would be the fact that Rabiot would be cup-tied in the UEFA Champions League, something which wouldn’t be the case for Wanyama’s s transfer and with the crucial Barcelona tie coming up, it is highly necessary for Wenger to shore up his midfield with injuries plaguing the squad. A major issue is the loss of their most valuable players Sanchez and Cazorla. An Arsenal side which would lack in creativity will need to empower that side of their game and hence a midfielder is a priority.
