Arsenal are now favourites to sign the Inter Milan playmaker Matio Kovacic after it was revealed that Italian club are interested to sell their prized player.
Kovacic, 20, is tipped as one of the best young midfield players in the world at the moment and he has attracted lot of interests recent from the top clubs including Real Madrid.
Inter Milan are well aware of Kovacic’s growing popularity and are willing to cash-in on the Croatian. Arsenal did make an inquiry about Kovacic’s availability in the summer only to be turned down by the Italian club but Roberto Mancini has taken a U-turn and wants to sell Kovacic to fund a permanent deal for Xherdan Shaqiri.
Since teh arrival of Roberton Mancini, Kovacic has suffered a dip in form which is laregly due to the high expectation Mancini has from the Croatian but si far Kovacic has failed to deliver thus despite signing his contract extension, Kovacic could be on his way out of Inter Milan as the Italian club begin their desperate efforts to balance their books.
English media are reporting a £24 million bid is being readied by Arsenal as they look to seal the signing at the beginning of next summer’s transfer window. Everton failed with a £14 million earlier in the season as Inter Milan value Kovacic somewhere close to £25 million.
The talented Croatian has 8 goals this season and is seen in the younger version of former Gunner captain Cesc Fabregas. Arsene Wenger is keen to bolster his midfield next season and Kovacic is eyed as the number one target for Arsenal.
