It has been a rather uncharacteristic week for Arsene Wenger, a manager who has now purchased as many players in a day as he did in the whole summer window before the week.
The likes of Shkodran Mustafi and Lucas Perez will add plenty of quality and depth to the squad at the Emirates and will help them compete with the best in the league and on all four fronts.
However, it looks like Wenger is not done with his summer transfer business with the club linked with a number of players from Europe with just a few days left for the deadline day.
One such player, who is reportedly on the radar for Wenger is Inter Milan midfielder Marcelo Brozovic.
It is understood that the likes of Gabriel Barbosa and Joao Mario may be on their way to Italy to join Milan and this has seen the Serie A outfit entertain offers for the 23-year old midfielder this summer.
The Croatia international’s representative, Miroslav Bicanic, said the 23-year-old has plenty of choices before the close of the transfer window. It’s true, there are many options and we are talking about some big European clubs,” Bicanic told Index in Croatia.
“I heard that Chelsea representatives are in Milan and that Arsenal are also prepared to sign him. “Inter are pushing to sell to one of these two clubs who are prepared to pay a sum that satisfies all concerned,” he added.
The 23-year old however played a huge role in the side last season making 32 appearances in all competitions. However, he has not impressed the Milan manager enough to warrant another year at the club and this has seen clubs across Europe fight for his signature.
The agent of the player also revealed that there is plenty of time to get a deal done and that nothing is being hurried up. He also explained that anyone who is ready to meet his valuation might be potential suitors for the player.
It will be interesting to see who gets his hands on Brozovic as the likes of Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur are also vying for his signature.
Where do you think Brozovic will play next season?
