Recent reports suggest that German world cup winner Sami Khedira is set to return to Bundesliga club Schalke despite the interest from Premier League Clubs Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea.
The player is set to run out of contract at Santiago Bernabeu at the end of the season and Real Madrid have already confirmed that the player will not stay beyond the summer with them.
Manchester United tried to lure the defensive midfielder last month by offering a £200,000-a-week but the player have turned down the offer as he prefers Bundesliga suggest the reports.
This has led to interest from various Premier League Clubs and German clubs like Bayern and Schalke. Reports earlier heavily tipped the player to move to Allianz Arena but recent reports suggest that Schalke have started negotiations with the player’s agent.
Sami Khedira have moved to Real Madrid back in 2010 but injuries hampered for the last two seasons which has seen him being often benched. With Carlo Ancelotti preferring Sergio Ramos ahead of Khedira in Champions League made the player feel unwanted at Real Madrid.
Schalke general manager Horst Heldt confirmed their interest by saying, “I would prefer us to conduct our business in private. But it is true that we want Khedira for the coming season. However, we are not the only club who wants him.”
