Arsenal fans are not in the best spirits these days after being the only team across the top 5 European Leagues to not make a single outfield signing this season. Gunners decided to spend just £10million on Petr Cech and there were no further additions to their squad this season.
Understandably, this has led Arsene Wenger to name an almost similar Champions League squad as last season. However, one major surprise has been the addition of a 17-year-old midfielder Jeff Reine-Adelaide, who is yet to make his senior debut for the Gunners. Adelaide impressed during the limited time he had during pre-season’s Emirates Cup clashes against Lyon and Wolfsburg.
Among the 25-men squad for this season’s Champions League campaign, only Petr Cech holds the experience of lifting the European Cup with rest of the squad yet to appear in even a semi-final clash.
This represents the obvious lack of depth and strength in Arsenal’s Champions League squad this season as Arsene Wenger has decided to name eight junior players which further puts his decision not to spend this summer under a huge question mark.
