Arsenal Player Ratings: Iwobi, Sanchez Impress As Gunners Stroll Past Swansea

Arsenal has continued their good form in the new year as they managed an impressive 4-0 win against Swansea City at Liberty Stadium. The win saw Gunners back in the title race as they are now just five points adrift off league leaders Chelsea with the Blues playing one game less.

The visitors have been in control of the game since the start and were put into deserved lead by in form Olivier Giroud as the Frenchman scored in his last 9 starts for the club. The home side didn’t help their cause of getting back into the team as they put goals into their own net before Alexis Sanchez adding another.

Here we look at the Arsenal’s player ratings in their impressive win.

Cech- 7

Had little to do in the entire game but was up to the mark when called up on as he managed a clean sheet.

Gabriel- 6

Has looked out of sorts at times but has looked more comfortable in the unffamiliar right back role as the game progressed.

Mustafi- 7

Had the best day since the return from the injury but has looked little rusty and careless in the opening minutes.

Koscielny- 8

Has been the best defender of the match as he looked solid in the back and eliminated the threat of Llorente completely.

Monreal- 7

Has been brilliant going forward as he linked up very well with Alexis Sanchez. Had little to deal defensively.

Ramsey- 6

Has looked decent overall despite a couple of poor decisions. Unlucky to not score from a close range.

Xhaka- 7

Yet another impressive performance as he was at the heart of midfield. Has been impressive providing decisive passes to the attack.

Ozil- 7

Has looked good as he returned from injury. Have had his impact on the game despite not having the stats to prove it.

Iwobi- 8

The Nigerian is slowly becoming a great player for the club as he continues to impress in whatever the manager asks him to play. MOTM performance yet again and a bright player for the future.

Sanchez- 8

Was put back to his natural left wing position and has been at his devastating best throughout the game before being subbed off in the closing minutes of the game.

Giroud- 7

The Frenchman continued his impressive form as he has now scored in his last nine starts. He has opened the scoring in the first half before horrible errors from Swansea.
