Arsenal is preparing bids for two strikers and could have both deals done before Euro 2016, according to reports.
The English giants failed to strengthen their forward line this summer, with goalkeeper Petr Cech the sole arrival at Emirates.
But the Sunday today claims manager Arsene Wenger is willing to spend £7million on Dynamo Moscow and Aleksandr Kokorin.
Kokorin, 24, was linked with a loan move to the north London club over the summer – but Moscow were unwilling to let their man go.
Moscow, it is claimed, would prefer to cash in on the player rather than lose him for nothing come June 2016.
However, the Gunners believe they can still get him on the cheap in January as Kokorin’s contract expires at the end of the season.
Meanwhile, reports from Spain claim that Kokorin may be joined by Atletico Madrid striker Antoine Griezmann before the European Championships next summer.
The transfer window may be closed, but Arsenal have today been linked with Atletico Madrid’s Antoine Griezmann and another forward.

The France international boasts five goals for the season already and would cost at least £33m (€45m) for Madrid to consider letting their ace leave.
Whether the infamously frugal Wenger will be willing to part with such a sum is another question.
The Gunners beat Watford 3-0 yesterday evening to record their 16th league goal in nine games.
Forward Alexis Sanchez and Oliver Giroud bagged second-half goals at Vicarage Road before Aaron Ramsey wrapped up the victory.
