Arsenal have looked decent so far this season as they maintained their level despite few hiccups in the first half of the season. The Gunners are currently in the third position in the Premier League and are eight points adrift of Chelsea.
Wenger has been brilliant in the summer transfer window as he managed to sign Shkodran Mustafi, Granit Xhaka and Lucas Perez to strengthen the team which has so far proved fruitful for the Gunners. Here we look at all the transfer stories surrounding Arsenal in the ongoing transfer window.
Former Arsenal youngster Serge Gnabry has admitted that he could return back to London in the future but has insisted that he is keen to give his all for his current club Werder Bremen.
The 21-year old is one of the exciting talents in Germany but with Arsenal failing to provide him playing time, he decided to move back to Bundesliga earlier this summer.
He told German publication Bild: “For my future, I’ve decided to focus on how I play now and today. That’s why I’m trying to concentrate on the now.
“As of today, I do not intend to change in the summer. But what happens in the future depends on my performance.
“What if Chelsea or Arsenal come knocking? Well, at the moment I’m trying to give everything to Werder.”
Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny has revealed that he is unaware of his future at the club as the decision remains entirely in the hands of Arsene Wenger.
The young Polish goalie has left to Roma on a loan deal after the arrival of David Ospina and Petr Cech. Roma who are very happy with Szczesny are keen on a permanent deal as they eye £15m move.
“My future? I wish I knew myself. My future is in the hands of Arsene Wenger, the man that I’ve I trusted since I was 16 years old,” Szczesny told Sky Italia.
“The decision is entirely up to him. I’m happy to be fought over by two big clubs like Arsenal and Roma.
Arsenal’s long-term target Edinson Cavani has hinted that he could move to Premier League in the future.
Despite tying down Giroud to a new contract, Arsenal are keen to sign a world class striker as they keep tabs on the likes of Morata, Aubameyang and others.
“Every footballer knows the Premier League is a great league,” he told Sky Sports.
“It’s very competitive and it’s among the best leagues in the world. In football, you never know what is going to happen.
“If one day I have the opportunity to play in England, I am sure I would enjoy it there.”
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has hinted that right back Carl Jenkinson could be leaving the club in the coming days as Crystal Palace are ready to sign him.
The 24-year old has recently recovered from a long-term injury but has fallen down the pecking order as Hector Bellerin is a definite starter for Wenger in the position.
“With Carl, there is a possibility he could move in the next few days,” the Arsenal manager said.
“To Palace? You look well informed! But I can’t say much more as we are not yet at a conclusion.”
