Arsenal have ruled out moving for their former captain and fan favourite Cesc Fabregas making Manchester United clear at the top of the queue to sign the Barcelona midfielder. It is believed that United will bid €37m to secure the services of the 27 year old. Fabregas has been a long term transfer target for United since last summer and after a disastrous season in the Premier League, the Red Devils have planned wholesale changes at Old Trafford.

It is  believed that new manager Louis Van Gaal has given his consent for Fabregas who despite scoring 9 goals and 14 assists in 45 appearances is believed to be on his way out of the Camp Nou.

Though there a clause in Fabregas’ contract which states that Arsenal would have first refusal for the player, the London club has ruled out a move for the Spaniard thanks to their plethora of midfield options. Having signed Mesut Ozil for a club record £42m fee last summer, manager Arsene Wenger would struggle to accommodate Fabregas in his squad. Earlier Arsenal legend Ray Parlour had also advised Wenger against bringing in the talented player from the Catalan club.

Manchester City are also believed to be interested in the player but Manuel Pellegrini’s side wont perhaps bid for Fabregas thanks to the Financial Fair Play regulation sfor which the Citizens have been already fined £49m
