According to the latest reports from Daily Star, Arsenal have hijacked Liverpool’s negotiations over a potential transfer for Dortmund’s star midfielder Marco Reus. The Gunners are keen to sign the German star to add more quality to their front line next season.
Arsenal director has recently confirmed that they have the financial power to sign any player in the world apart from Ronaldo and Messi and are looking to make key additions to their weak zones. The 26-year old is tipped to leave Signal Iduna Park this summer and eearlier reports suggest that Liverpool are in negotiation talks. Reus have signed a new contract last December but is looking to move away with Jurgen Klopp parting ways with the club after a seven year spell.
Reus has picked up some career threatening injuries since May 2014 which saw him withdraw from 2014 World Cup and missed most of last season. An energised Reus mix into the fold helped Dortmund to manage Europa League place despite fighting for relegation after the first half of the season.
He scored 11 goals in 29 appearances during the 2014/15 campaign despite long lay offs due to injuries. The German is being linked with the likes of Barcelona and Real Madrid but Arsenal looks to be his preferred destination as he always admired Premier League.
Reus is currently valued at £47.8m and Dortmund are not willing to sell him for any lesser price.
