Arsenal have wrapped up the signing of Southampton right back, Calum Chambers for a price tag of £16m deal as announced by the official website of Arsenal.

The England Under-19 international will join Arsenal football Club after spending 12 years at Southampton. Chambers is Arsenal’s fourth signing of this summer, following the signing of Alexis Sanchez, Mathieu Debuchy and David Ospina. Calum Chambers told the Arsenal official website that he is delighted and thanked everyone at Southampton.

“I am so happy to be signing for Arsenal,” he told the club’s official website. “They are a team I have much admired for their playing style, and a team who have been one of the top sides in Europe for many years.

“I’m looking forward to joining up with my new team-mates today and beginning preparation for the season ahead.

“I would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to everyone at Southampton FC for everything they have done for me and for making this move possible.”

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger also spoke about the qualities of his latest signing and he seemed pretty confident that Chambers will be a success at the club.

“We are very pleased that Calum has agreed to join us,” he added. “The way he adapted to the Premier League last season with Southampton at a young age shows that he has tremendous quality.”

“He has a lot of the attributes that we look for in a young player and I am sure that he will do well with us.”

Southampton have already lost Adam Lallana, Dejan Lovren, Rickie Lambert and Luke Shaw to rival Premier League clubs this season. They now have a daunting task to rebuild their team.
