Bournemouth chairman Jeff Mostyn has said that Jack Wilshere could make his loan deal permanent at Dean Court.
After falling down the pecking order at Arsenal, the England international made a sensational move to the Cherries in a bid to revive his career. Injury has been his biggest nemesis throughout his career and he played just one game last season. The Arrival of Granit Xhaka made the matters worse for him and to get the maximum playing time he chose to sign a surprising loan deal with Bournemouth on the deadline day of the summer transfer. Since then, the midfielder has played three times for his new club and the chairman has revealed his desires of keeping the talented player at the club for a longer time.
Speaking at Soccerex Global Convention in Manchester, he said: “I think anything is possible. The best we can do is integrate Jack into the team and help him fulfil what he wants.
“Whether or not we will go beyond a season, I think everything is possible.
He said that the player’s will of staying at the club or to leave will play a vital role in the deal.
“You have to be realistic and Jack may well consider his home to be back at Arsenal. If that was the case then we couldn’t disagree with his decision – and the decision will be his,” he added.
“But if there is a possibility and Eddie Howe decides that he’s somebody he wants to keep it will be up to him. He will have to persuade [owner] Maxim Demin to unload a huge treasure chest in order to keep him. That would be the $64m question – it may even be the £64m transfer fee!.
