Arsenal star Olivier Giroud has thrown his support firmly behind under-fire manager Arsene Wenger.

The Gunners boss is under immense pressure after yet another poor season that saw his team getting eliminated from the Champions League after suffering a humiliating 10-2 aggregate defeat by Bayern Munich in the round of 16.

Their position in the Premier League is not promising either as they are languishing at the sixth position following the 3-1 defeat at West Brom last Saturday.

However, there are no signs of him leaving the Emirates soon as reports suggest that the French tactician whose current contract is set to expire after this season, is all set to sign a contract extension much to the frustration of the fans. The frustrated fans made their feelings clear by crowdfunding an aeroplane to tow a banner reading ‘No Contract #Wenger Out’ during the game at Hawthorns but

Giroud and Arsene Wenger's have a good relationship and the former says all the players are behind him

However, Giroud is confident that Wenger is still the best man to lead Arsenal.

He told French station Canal Plus: “We want to see Arsène Wenger sign an extension. To continue the adventure, because we support him.”

Speaking on club’s aim in the ongoing season, the France international said:“We hope to win the cup and qualify Arsenal for the Champions’ League.”

Meanwhile, Borussia Dortmund boss Thomas Tuchel has dismissed his chances of replacing Wenger at the Emirates. Reports were suggesting that the Gunners had approached Tuchel over replacing Wenger this summer.

However, Tuchel said: “I can’t give you any information about the topic because it doesn’t involve me. I’m happy with my job in Dortmund and have a contract, so it is of no interest to me.”
