To sign or not to sign?
Arsenal seem to find themselves in a peculiar situation when it comes to the transfers of Nigerian teenagers Kelechi Nwakali and Samuel Chukwueze.
According to Football Insider sources Football Insider Arsenal’s double deal for Nigerian sensations is now ’99 per cent done’. The duo were members of the victorious Nigeria squad at the Under-17 World Cup in Chile last November. The report also suggests that Arsenal are now awaiting clearance while the teenagers worked on the relevant work permits and visas to play in the UK.
However, a contrasting report from Soccernet states that the world governing body’s rules on signing players under the age of 18 could prevent Arsene Wenger from landing the pair. Nwakali is only 17, while Chukwueze is 16.
Real Madrid ,Barcelona and Atletico have all faced bans over the signing of teenage players and Wenger doesn’t want to get into any trouble. Arsenal are expected to pay £3million to the Diamond Football Academy in Umuahia, Nigeria for the pair if the move goes through.
Arsenal “step up” their pursuit of Real Madrid star
Arsenal have been linked with the Real Madrid midfielder since time immemorial and according to El Confidential, Arsenal have seriously “stepped up” their pursuit of the Real Madrid midfielder during this transfer window.
Isco is a crowd favourite at the Bernebeu but president Florentino Perez is apparently “willing to listen to offers” for the 23 year old, as long as they are around the £25million mark.
Arsenal have an abundance of attacking midfielders and leaving one bench to sit on the other makes absolutely no sense for Isco .
Defender on his way out
Lastly, it looks like Mathieu Debuchy might be heading to Germany, as Aston Villa are not interested in paying his loan fee.
According to Italian website Calciomercato, Bayer Leverkusen are now in “pole” position to sign Mathieu Debuchy because Villa are not prepared to pay Debuchy’s ‘buyout clause’, and he could now accept the offer from Bayer Leverkusen.
Debuchy is himself apprehensive about moving to Aston Villa after he admitted that he will be taking his time to think about the move: “Aston Villa are in great difficulty, and that’s why I’m taking time before making a decision. They’re a big English club, and I’m not ruling out the possibility. I have also talked to Remi Garde over the phone.”
Arsenal are believed to be demanding a loan fee of £1.25 million, which is proving to be a stumbling block for Aston Villa.
