Arsene Wenger has been a rather busy person this summer with his club linked with a move for a number of top class players in Europe this summer.
The manager was criticized for the lack of summer business at the end of the last season but Wenger has added just one big name in Granit Xhaka to his squad and is still looking into the transfer window for further additions.
He has been scouting for a striker for 2 weeks now and is also in the market for a central defender after the unfortunate injury to Per Mertesacker during a pre-season session.
So the manager still has some work to do in the transfer window and with 10 days to go for the start of the season, he will have to hurry up.
Let’s take a look at all the stories that are coming out of the Emirates in Thursday:
Szczesny completes move to Rome:
The shot-stopper has fallen out of favor at Arsenal after his antics in the dressing room a couple of years ago and has been at Roma on loan for the latter half of the season.
And it is now revealed that Szczesny has completed his medical ahead of another loan move to Italy. “Wojciech’s loan is subject to the completion of regulatory processes. We wish him well for the season ahead,” Arsenal said in a statement.
Arsenal to miss out on Mauro Icardi:
The Argentine striker has been the subject of a transfer rumor to the Emirates with reports even suggesting that a deal has already been agreed.
But it now looks like the striker is determined to play in Italy next season and tweeted a picture of the San Siro with a message ‘welcome my home’

This story will come as a blow for the Gunners who are in desperate need of a top class striker this summer.
Arsenal step up pursuit of Jonny Evans:
The Gunners were linked with the former Manchester Untied man recently after the injury to Mertesacker and it is now understood that they are keen on landing him this summer.
It is now revealed that Arsenal had a scout watching over the defender in a recent pre season game with the manager trying to make a move in the coming days.
Julian Draxler to stay put:
The long term target for Arsenal, Julian Draxler has recently revealed that he wants to leave Wolfsburg this summer after being unsettled at the club.
Arsenal were reportedly making a move for the exciting attacker this summer but were dealt a blow earlier today after the Bundesliga outfit revealed that the 22-year old will not be leaving the club this summer.
Arsenal hand Daniel Ballard scholarship terms:
The 16-year old has been at the Emirates as a youth international and has come through the ranks at the club over the years.
It is understood that he has impressed Wenger with his performances and will now continue his development with the club till he attains the age of 18.
Arsenal to miss out on Mahrez:
The Gunners were confident of landing their man a week ago but there have not been any new advancements in the matter and it now looks like the London outfit will miss out on their transfer target.
Owner Srivaddhanaprabha posted a cheeky snap on his Instagram account of himself and Mahrez with the caption: “You not for sale!!”
