West Brom manager Tony Pulis has revealed that Arsene Wenger will sign a new contract at Arsenal to stay beyond this season.
The 67-year old is currently facing his worst spell as a manager as Gunners have lost six of their last nine games across all competitions which also includes their disappointing 10-2 loss to Bayern Munich in Premier League.
After their 3-1 win against Arsenal on Saturday, Tony Pulis has insisted that the Frenchman will be staying at Emirates as he said: “I’ll be surprised if he goes.”
When asked why he thought he stays, Pulis added: “Because he told me.”
The 59-year has further added: “I think he’s the greatest manager Arsenal have ever had. They could finish in the top four and win an FA Cup — that’s not too bad is it?
“I don’t think respect counts now. People live for today. If you’re asking me what Arsenal should or shouldn’t do I’m the wrong person.”
The Gooners are very unhappy with the Frenchman as they are keen to see a managerial change at the club with Wenger playing the role for the last 21 years. The club have not won a league title in the past 13 years while their title rivals Chelsea, Manchester United and Manchester City have won at least two titles each during the same period.
There has been a huge pressure on the shoulders on Wenger in the recent weeks as the club have already offered him a new two year deal. But the 67-year old has so far did not commit his future to the club as he is still thinking to make the right move at the right moment.
The club are determined to win FA Cup and finish in top four at the end of the season, which is also looking increasingly difficult as they slipped to sixth place in the league after their defeat to West Brom in the weekend.
