Despite Arsenal’s flawless form recently, former Arsenal striker Charlie Nicholas believes that Arsenal need 2 more world class signing to challenge for titles on multiple fronts from next season onwards. Nicholas has handed a 2-men shortlist to Arsene Wenger and has urged the Arsenal manager to complete those signings in the upcoming Transfer Window.

Nicholas has earmarked the names of Real Madrid central defender Raphael Varane and Southampton midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin as the key men who can take Arsenal to the next level.

Nicholas, who scored 54 goals for Arsenal during his 4 year spell at the club (1983-87) believes that his fromer club are just one step away from achieving greatness.

Morgan Schneiderlin has been constantly linked with a move to the Emirates in a proposed £20 million deal. Schneiderlin has previously talked about his ambition to play for a Champions League club in future and in particular Arsenal.

Schneiderlin is seen as the ideal man to partner Francis Coquelin or Santi Cazorla in Arsenal midfield which would give steel and fair to Wenger’s men going forward.

Arsenal need a central defender – This has been a major point of concern for the Arsenal supporters who have constantly made their feelings known to the Arsenal board and management and as a result of that Gabriel Pauliste arrived from Villarreal, but still there is not an assurity about Arsenal’s defense.

Raphael Varane is seen as the best young defensive prospect in the European football and signing the Real Madrid would almost guarantee Arsenal the success and domination their fans have been hoping for a long time now.
