Chelsea have received a major boost as reports suggest that Spanish giants Atletico Madrid have dropped their interest in Blues’ star striker Diego Costa.
The 29-year old has moved to Stamford Bridge two seasons ago from Atletico Madrid and have become a vital cog in Blues’ attack.
Atletico Madrid have set Diego Costa as their No.1 attacking target this summer which has made them to not give up despite Chelsea refusing to sell.
However, there had been speculations about the player leaving London this summer but newly appointed manager Conte is keen to have the player for the upcoming season.
The Blues were so frustrated with Atletico officials that they have warned the Spanish club over their pursuit to land Diego Costa.
Conte have been looking elsewhere to sign a new striker with the likes of Alvaro Morata, Romelu Lukaku among the potential targets.
Atletico Madrid have set their sights over Sevilla’s star striker Kevin Gameiro. Atletico will halt the chase for Diego Costa if they can land Gameiro as the Champions League finalists look for a talented striker going into the new season.
