Another bad news came in Liverpool fans’ way as Barcelona star Neymar wants his best friend Philippe Coutinho at Barcelona.

The Brazilian playmakers acted as the only glimmer of hope for Liverpool fans since last season when Liverpool had a disappointing spell, but the Fleet-footed midfielder made the fans happy with his individual brilliance week in week out. The flamboyant attacker was nominated in the six-man shortlist for PFA Player of the Year and also PFA Young Player of the Year.

He was also awarded as the Liverpool FC Fans Player of the Year and Liverpool FC Players’ Player of the Year last season thanks to his brilliant displays last season.

While the Reds are still struggling to kick start their new season, Coutinho has been amazing sometimes trying on his own for Liverpool.

In the meantime, Coutinho has been linked with a move to Spanish giants and European champions Barcelona by Spanish media outlet Fichajes and they are reporting that the Catalan giants are interested in the Liverpool number 10 and planning to raid on the Merseyside giants again After signing Luis Suarez £75million last summer.

The speculation has started to gain pace now with Coutinho’s international teammate and best friend Barcelona star Neymar stating that he wants the 23-year-old at Barcelona.

Neymar said: “I see many Brazilian players with quality today.”

“But one that I like and I think I could play here is Coutinho.”

“He has the style of Barcelona.”

Neymar and Coutinho share a very good relationship due to their playing days together from very young age for Brazilian youth set ups and the duo has a very good chemistry between them.

This follows from the quotes from Coutinho few days on Neymar when asked about the Barcelona forward as the former Inter Milan player said, “Yeah we’ve known each other for a long time, we played together in the national youth teams.”

“So throughout the Under-14s, Under-15s, Under-16s and Under-17s we became very close.”

“Over time we grew further apart, as I moved to Italy, but we stayed in touch with each other.”

“He’s very down to earth, and everyone really admires him.”

Neymar is not the first one to tout Coutinho as the perfect fit for Barcelona as former Barcelona and Brazilian legendary midfielder Ronaldinho Gaucho also stated during the summer transfer window that Coutinho should go to Barcelona and the Catalan giants should sign him to pair him up with Neymar and it can make them even deadlier side with Messi, Suarez, Neymar and Coutinho up front.

He said, “He [Coutinho] has had a fantastic season – he has been one of the best midfield players in Europe – and when you think he has been playing in a team that has not been performing well that is an even bigger achievement.”

Luis Suarez also adores Coutinho and rates him as his favorite Premier League player and he would also love his former Liverpool teammate at Barcelona.

Steven Gerrard also expressed his fear about Coutinho getting attention from Spanish giants Real Madrid and Barcelona if Liverpool does not start performing  and they are yet to perform at that level and Coutinho getting attention from Barcelona is getting pace with their biggest stars rating Coutinho and we might see him leaving Anfield in near future.
