Barcelona are currently enduring a tough transfer window having failed to make any significant move to sign their transfer targets. However, the Catalan club have already ensured that they get back some of their former players back at Camp Nou coaching and ambassadorial capacities for next season.
Keeping Former Players Linked
Barcelona are following the footsteps of Bayern Munich and Real Madrid, who always associate their former players in big administrative and coaching roles after their retirement.
The Spanish giants have managed to swoop in for Juliano Belletti, who scored the winning goal in their second European title glory. The 41-year old, who had represented Barcelona between 2004-2007has returned as a global ambassador, joining former teammates Ronaldinho and Eric Abidal who are also in the same role at the club currently.
The Brazilian had also recently took part in the legends game featuring alongside the likes of Rivaldo, Gaizka Mendieta and Ludovic Giuly earlier last month.
On the other hand, Barcelona have also announced that former players Jose Mari Bakero and Guillermo Amor will also return back to the club to join the coaching staff. Both the players have played under legendary manager Johan Cruyff, who is considered as one of the greatest players and managers of all time.
Coach Ernesto Valverde and sporting director Roberto Fernandez can also be considered as prime examples for Barcelona’s intention to rope in former players.
Frustrating Window
The Blaugrana are enduring a tough transfer window so far having failed to make significant transfer moves for their targets. The club are yet to sign a major player who can improve the squad and still possess the weak areas in their team that led to disappointing last season.
They were linked with the likes of Marco Verratti and Ander Herrera for the holding midfielder but new manager Ernesto Valverde could not convince any of the targets to sign for Barcelona this summer. Their major European rivals Bayern Munich, Juventus are currently are on an impressive run in the transfer market after poaching top players for significantly low amount.
