If you are a Manchester United fan, you must be dreaming what might have been if the club signed the Spanish superstar, once Barcelona’s midfield general, Xavi Hernandez.

The veteran midfielder has won everything possible domestically, be it Spain or be it continental football, along with donning the international success. The Spaniard won 4 champions league and 8 la liga titles with the Catalans and now plying his trade in Qatarian club Al Saad. After all these years Xavi has now revealed, if he moved to any Premiere League club, it would have been Manchester United. He mentioned Liverpool’s name also but repeatedly said United would be the preferable one than the Merseyside club. But also insisted he never had any plan moving into English football leaving behind so much success in Barcelona.

When asked about a move to England he said, “I don’t know, I’ve never thought about it. As I’ve always been a Barcelona man. I never had to think about it. It has always been my top team. ” Although the midfielder acknowledged choosing a career in English football is always a brilliant proposition for any player as his other national team members like David Silva, Juan Mata, Santi Cazorla are doing well in Premiere League.

“I know that others teams like Manchester City have emerged more recently, but, Manchester United are my favourite historically speaking.”

During his golden dominating days Xavi hassled United with his Champions League performances and whenever he with his finest form entered Old Trafford, gave hick ups to the Red Devils.
