Barcelona Planning Emergency Defensive Transfer In The Summer

Barcelona are considering making an emergency defensive transfer, Luis Enrique has suggested.
Barcelona are still without a recognised right-back after Aleix Vidal was ruled out for the season with an ankle injury.
Sergi Roberto has been forced to fill in for Luis Enrique’s side since, being switched from his usual central midfield role.
And his last-gasp goal against Paris Saint-Germain in midweek has given Barca a problem.
With Champions League football back on the agenda for the Catalan side, they must now consider bringing in a right-back to cope with the additional fixtures.
And Barca boss Enrique has suggested the club will take advantage of their right to sign an emergency player.
“We always look at possibilities of improving the squad,” Enrique replied when asked about bringing in a right-back.
The La Liga champions had to notify the league by Friday of their intentions to sign a player.
If they have done so they must complete the deal within a 15-day window.
Barca take on Deportivo La Coruna tomorrow at the Estadio Riazor.
The Catalans may be without Neymar and Rafinha after both missed the final training session beforehand with injury.
A muscle knock to the left leg struck down Neymar whereas Rafinha is suffering from stomach problems, namely gastroenteritis.
As such, neither are expected to make the matchday squad for the game against Pepe Mel’s side.
The thrill of turning over Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League may be lost if Barca suffer a shock against Deportivo and Luis Enrique is open to the idea of freshening up his starting XI to guarantee maximum focus.
In relation to Barcelona’s new 3-4-3 formation, the Asturian noted that the attacking nature of his tactics is what’s required to get the best out of his players.
“If there’s anything that you cannot call me, it’s conservative,” he remarked. “I’ll always do what’s best for the team.
