Defending Premier League champions Chelsea FC take on mid table side Swansea City in the last match of the opening day. The champions are clear favourties in the match but we expect tough competition from Garry Monk’s side who have a decent enough squad. Many consider Swansea City to be the dark horses and they are expected to finish at the top half of the table.

Jose Mourinho will likely miss the services of star striker Diego Costa due to hamstring injury. Loic Remy is likely to start. Chelsea had a terrible pre-season where they failed to win even one game. They also lost against rivals Arsenal in the FA Community Shield last Sunday.

Irrespective of a poor pre-season campaign they can expect to finish among the top four teams. If Costa remains fit the team can even defend the title successfully.

The Predicted lineup for the match is given below:

Key Battles

Willian vs Franck Tabanou

Willian is one of the most hardworking players in the Chelsea squad. The Brazilian generally operates from the right flank and holds the potential to impose constant threat upfront. Swansea’s newest recruit Franch Tabanou will be in charge to mark the energetic Brzailian.

Eden Hazard vs Kyle Naughton

Eden Hazard is the best of this Chelsea squad at the moment. The crafty Belgian has the potential to win matches single-handedly for his team. Hazard was also nominated the best player of the Premier league last season. Kyle Naughton of Swansea will have to keep a firm eye on the midfielder to avoid danger.

Bafetimbi Gomis vs John Terry

French international Bafetimbi Gomis is the most influential player in this Swansea City unit. The striker had joined the side last summer and has been quite effective. Since Wilfried Bony’s departure last season Gomis has played a crucial role in the team. Chelsea veteran John Terry will have to be vigilant so that Gomis does not impose any threat on the Chelsea goal.

Chelsea FC 2-0 Swansea City

Defending champions should cruise past Swansea without much hindrance.
