Bayern Munich’s star attacker Thomas Muller has mentioned recently in an intrview that he is flattered by Premier League giants Manchester United’s interest in him. Since Louis van Gaal took charge of the Red Devils last season, it was speculated several times in the media that the Dutch manager is a keen admirer of the German international and wants to lure his services at Manchester United. This season too Muller was closely linked with the Premier league side and it was speculated that they might place a huge transfer bid for the player.
Muller recenlty spoke to German media where he said: “When a request comes, you deal with it automatically. A request from a big club is an honour and a reward that your performance is good. But I feel well at Bayern, and my contract runs until 2019. There is nothing more to say on these speculations.”
Thomas Muller has clearly pointed it out that even though United’s interest has made him happy, he has no plans of quitting the German champions untill his contract expires in 2019. This will definitely put all the speculation regarding his transfer to halt.
The 25-year-old attacker has been playing at Bayern Munich since 2008. In 304 appearnces he has scored 121 goals. Muller initially started his career at the right midfield position but later he was deployed in several position like, striker, center forward, attacking midfield etc. Undestandably Louis van Gaal wanted Thomas Muller at Old Trafford.
If at all Thomas Muller joins Manchester United he will perfectly fit into their squad. United needs quality attackers. They are short of strikers at the moment and Muller’s arrival could solve that problem. Also if any of the star midfielders misses a match he can come down and take up midfield duties. The German is at his peak of form and would be an asset to any team he joins. Bayern Munich too have mentioned several times that they dont have any plans of selling Thomas Muller.
In the previous season Thomas Muller played 32 Bundesliga matches and scored 12 goals in the league.
