Liverpool have been tipped to sign Belgian forward Christian Benteke of Aston Villa. He was Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers’ number one priority for past couple of transfer windows.

Liverpool last season had very bad goalscoring record.

Daniel Sturridge spent most of the season on the sidelines due to injury.

Other three strikers Rickie Lambert, Mario Balotelli and Fabio Borini could not impress and just managed a grand total of 4 goals in Premier League between them.

Liverpool have already signed Danny Ings on free transfer who did very well for relegated side Burnley last season.

Another striker Divock Origi who spent last season on loan at LOSC Lille, has returned from loan.

Liverpool therefore now have six strikers and with neither of them in any mood of leaving, may be Borini, conventional wisodm suggests they are unlikely to buy another striker.

But today Twitter flooded with rumours of Benteke joing Liverpool. Liverpool fans have reacted on the social media about the signing of Benteke.
