Chelsea defender David Luiz has sparked fears of a serious knee injury after their 1-1 draw against Burnley on Sunday.
The Blues have looked little off against the Clarets at Turf Moor and have only managed a 1-1 draw at the end to move ten points clear the top.
However, the major concern for the fans was the injury of David Luiz who looked to be struggling and limping throughout the second half.
Antonio Conte has revealed that the Brazilian is having a pain in his knee ahead of the game and had insisted that Luiz will play because he is a warrior.
‘He’s playing with a little pain in his knee,’ Conte said ahead of the trip to Turf Moor.
‘He’s a warrior and he’s playing very well, I’m pleased for him. He’s showing me a great attitude and a will to continue to fight despite the fact that sometimes he has a bit of pain.’
However, Chelsea fans seemed to be furious with the manager’s decision to play Luiz as he is risking their best defender in a low profile game.
The 29-year old has uploaded a pic in his Instagram account which has scared Chelsea fans about his injury.
Luiz had suffered the injury when Manchester City’s striker Sergio Aguero went into a rash tackle which got the Argentine a straight red card in the notorious game at Etihad Stadium in December.
However, the Brazilian has carried on with his knee injury and have made some stellar performances for the Blues in the recent weeks.
But Conte should be more careful in using his best defender as he has a rich of reserves with the likes of John Terry and Kurt Zouma on the bench.
