Blow to Man United and Chelsea as Arsenal are gearing up to sign free agent Ibrahimovic

According to the latest report published by Daily Mirror, star striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic already has been offered to Arsenal, as the free-agent-to-be all set to leave PSG at the end of this season.

The Paris Saint-Germain striker is without a contract this summer and will be up for grab on a free transfer.

Ibra has been heavily linked with Premier League giants Chelsea and Manchester United, but the Daily Mirror suggested that Arsenal are now leading the race for his signature.

Arsenal’s Majority shareholder Stan Kroenke thinks they still lack a world-class striker who can complement the likes of Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil, and Ibrahimovic happens to be at the top of his wish-list.

The Gunners lacked some serious bite in the final third as they were thrown out of the Champions League by Barcelona, and Arsene Wenger could be pondering to break the bank for the Swedish striker’s high wage demands.

It would be certainly mean a walk away from Wenger’s normal transfer policy but PSG have yet to hand Ibrahimovic a new contract and, even though his wages probably will be in excess of £250,000 per week, there would be no transfer fee and Ibra himself recently declared he wants to play in Premier League. But the 34-year-old striker, who once rejected a chance to trial at Arsenal, would be a short-term solution.

However, reports from France reckon that Chelsea have already made the first move placing a bid of a two-year deal worth almost £20million, with Diego Costa now edging closer to an Atletico Madrid return this summer.

French newspaper L’Equipe further claims United are also very much interested, with Ibra being regarded as the perfect mentor for young Martial.

Former Manchester United manager Rio Ferdinand has requested Premier League clubs to bring the PSG superstar to England, saying after PSG’s win over Chelsea last week: “Even at 34, English clubs – as a free transfer –should be looking for this guy to come over here and be the catalyst to win things.”

Meanwhile, his agent Mino Raiola has made a sensational claim that his client has already decided his next destination. While speaking to  Swedish newspaper Expressen he said: “We know what we want but we will not say anything until the summer when the season is over. But we are clear now what we want to happen. Ibra has already made his decision.”
