Huge blow for Arsenal FC as star midfielder Jack Wilshere will undergo a surgery to his left fibula.

It was reported earlier that Jack Wilshere had suffered a gruelling injury that could keep him out of action for several months.

Now the club itself have confirmed the news via their website. The official statement read: “Due to a slow healing response from a fracture suffered in August, the club can confirm that Jack Wilshere is to undergo an operation to his left fibula.

“The decision to intervene has been taken quickly after regular reviews by specialists, who feel that Jack’s scans show that the healing process is not progressing as well as expected.

“Jack will have surgery in London in the forthcoming days. This will involve inserting a small plate in his left fibula. Jack is likely to be out for approximately three months.

“Everyone at the club wishes Jack well with his rehabilitation.”

Jack Wilshere has suffered due to injury concerns several times in his career and this the fifth consecutive season that the talented English midfielder will remain out of action due to injury setbacks.

Wilshere had joined Arsena; way back in 2008 as teenager but is yet to settle down at the club to several injuries over the years. Arsenal does not have much quality options in the central midfield area as Santi Cazorla who is predominantly an attacking midfielder has to track down and suffice that role.

Jack Wilshere is still one of the prominent names in England and it is considered that he is great prospect but this injury have put a question over his career.

It is expected that the midfielder would stay out for atleast a month if not more. It is a huge blow for both the player and the club.

Arsenal are currently at the fourth position in the league table with 10 points from 5 matches.
