Boost for Liverpool as star duo back in training ahead of West Brom clash

Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool are on the rise in the Premier League and find themselves in the 4th place in the points table, 8 games into the season with 5 wins and 2 draws.

However, they have not been able to stick to a single strong side that can win them games constantly due to a number of injuries to key players just before games.

Recently, Klopp missed the services of star midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum for the game against Manchester United and his absence was clearly felt by the side who replaced him with an Emre Can that was clearly a while away from match fitness.

However, the Reds received some great news ahead of their clash against West Bromwich Albion after it was revealed that the Dutch international is back in training and ready to take on the Baggies at the weekend.

Wijnaldum joined Liverpool in the summer for a hefty fee and assumed a place in the starting XI as a part of the midfield three where his energy and industry helped Liverpool overcome even the best teams in the league.

His absence was clear to see in the game against United as Liverpool found it hard to get a foothold in the midfield at Anfield.

However, they will be happy with his return to full training and will hope to have him start the game against Tony Pulis’ West Brom side at the weekend.

That is not the only good news Liverpool were handed recently with more players coming back from injury.

Long-term absentee Joe Gomez, who picked up an ACL injury early last season, is now back in full training for the club.

Gomez was back in action earlier this season but he suffered yet another setback on his route to full fitness and is only back in training this week.

He moved to Liverpool at the start of the previous season and cemented a place in the side in the left-back position early last season.

However, he picked up the injury even before making an appearance under the new manager Jurgen Klopp who will now be hoping for him to stay fit for the rest of the season.

The 19-year old showed great promise in the chances he got last season and is expected to play a role in Klopp’s side this season at Anfield.

However, just coming back from injury, he will have to make sure that he is fully fit before trying to get into the first team at the club this season.

It is good times for Liverpool who are slowly getting close to a full strength team just before the crunch festive time in the Premier League.
