Bournemouth 4-3 Liverpool: Twitter Reacts As Reds Squander Two-Goal Lead To Lose Their Second Game Of The Season
Dec 4, 2016 at 9:59 PM
Liverpool conceded a 2-0 lead as Bournemouth completed one of the most remarkable comebacks of the season to win the first game against the Reds in their history and denied the visitors to close the gap on table-toppers, Chelsea.
Sadio Mane opened the scoring in the 20th minute when he finished off a fine pass from Emre Can. Two minutes later, Jurgen Klopp’s men doubled their lead when Divock Origi found the back of the net from a narrow-angle. The Merseyside outfit went into the break with a two-goal lead and were looking destined to bag the three points. But Ryan Fraser, who came off the bench in the 55th minute, turned the game for the Cherries. Callum Wilson reduced the deficit when he scored from the spot after James Milner brought down Fraser in the box. Can restored Liverpool’s 2 goals lead with a curling effort. But Fraser once again proved to be the thorn in the flesh for the Reds as he reduced the deficit in the 76th minute with his first Premier League goal. Steve Cook levelled for the Cherries and Nathan Ake scored in the injury time to complete the comeback.
Reds are now third in the table, one point shy of second-placed Arsenal and three points shy of Chelsea who are leading the table.
