Jurgen Klopp took over Anfield 8 months into the Premier League season and had to be content with a squad established by a different personnel in Brendan Rodgers.
But the biggest positive of the summers signings for the Merseyside outfit has surely been Brazilian attacker Roberto Firmino.
Firmino, in the absence of a goal scoring center forward has assumed the false 9 role in the squad and has slowly started to flourish in the Liverpool Red. He has added goals and assists to his tally and looks a different player now that he has had time to settle into the team.
Fellow countryman and arguably the best player to ever play the sport, Ronaldinho, heaped loads of praise on the Liverpool attacker in a recent interview.
The former Barcelona star said that Firmino is one of the best number 10’s in Europe at the moment and urged the German manager to build his team around the talisman.
“I didn’t ever question if he would be a great player for Liverpool,I knew that he would be,” said the World Cup winner.”
“He’s one of the best at what he does in the world. He’s in the same class as Ozil, Silva, Iniesta, and all the other great players who play that role.”
“He’s the player that I’m sure Klopp will build his new Liverpool team around.
The former Ballon d’Or winner also praised the German manager and said that he is capable of bringing the glory days back to Anfield.
“Klopp is one of the best coaches in the world, he will know that Liverpool need better players, he will know that Firmino will need better players around him to get the most out of his game.
“I’m sure when he joined Liverpool, Klopp was promised he could bring in his own players, and with Firmino at the centre of the team, there’s no reason Liverpool cannot challenge once again.”
Firmino last scored for Liverpool in the 5-4 victory at Carrow Road and also helped his team to Wembley in his first season.
Do you think Firmino can help Liverpool reach new heights under Klopp?
