Breaking: £25.5m Brazilian Striker Back On Liverpool Radar After Latest Developments

Liverpool are on high alert after Inter Milan head coach Stefano Pioli admitted club’s talented striker Gabriel Barbosa could be open to leaving the Serie A club on a loan deal, according to Sky Sports.

The 20-year-old Brazilian has joined Inter Milan in the summer transfer window but has only made three Serie A apps for the San Siro side and could be on the move again in winter.

Alongside Liverpool, other Premier League top clubs, Arsenal and Chelsea have also been linked with the Brazilian forward in the summer but, as per the Daily Mirror, Jurgen Klopp is now keen to bring the talented South American to Anfield.

During his interview with Mediaset Premium, Inter boss Stefano Pioli spoke about the future of young striker: ‘I am happy at the enthusiasm for Gabigol, but I’d like to see him make some moves that are more useful and not just spectacular for the sake of being spectacular.

‘Will he remain? We are evaluating the situation. Our first objective in January is to whittle down the squad because we want players who are happy to be at a big club like Inter.

‘We are Inter, proud to be a big team and will go forward only with those who share that view.’

The Serie A giants signed Gabriel for £25.5m from Brazilian club Santos so it’s no surprise that Pioli is interested in the Brazilian getting valuable first-team minutes somewhere else.

Four months after joining Inter Milan, Gabriel Barbosa is still waiting for his first real chance to show his new club what he is capable of.

In a frustrating period, the 20-year-old nicknamed Gabigol has played just 21 minutes in Serie A, split between three substitute appearances.

Those included a one-minute cameo against Sassuolo when he picked up his first yellow card.

It was not supposed to be like this when he left Santos, the same club which recently produced Neymar.

Gabriel, who made his professional debut as a 16-year-old in 2013, emerged as one of Brazil’s great hopes during three seasons at Pele’s former club as he scored 57 goals and impressed with his pace, trickery, skill and clinical finishing.

He scored on his Brazil debut against Panama last year, went on to play at the Copa Centenario and won Olympic gold in Rio de Janeiro with the under-23 team.

Since joining Inter, however, he has found himself down the pecking order, with coach Stefano Pioli clearly feeling he is not quite ready to make the huge step up from Brazilian domestic football.
