According to Daily Express, Italian giants AC Milan have expressed their interest in signing Liverpool’s out-of-favour winger Lazar Markovic.
The 22-year old who has moved to Anfield in 2014 has failed to make an impact and manager Jurgen Klopp is keen to offload him before the end of current transfer window.
Markovic has spent last season on loan at Turkish club Fenerbahce and has failed to make an impression as he suffered an injury during the loan spell. He was restricted to only 16 appearances at the club before coming back to Anfield for the current season.
However, Klopp has not included the Serbian international in the squad for their season opener against Arsenal which has made his future more uncertain. The 22-year old has fallen down in the pecking order as both Sadio Mane and Ojo can play his role as a right winger.
Considering the fact that Liverpool are not going to play any European football meant his chances to the first team are very bleak. The player who cost Reds £20 million have not made much progress since his move due to fitness issues.
Klopp claimed that the player is still overcoming his fitness problems and has hinted the Serbian could leave Anfield this summer.
“He’s a good boy and works hard. At the end we will have to see how we will build our squad,” Klopp explained.
“We have time until August 31 or maybe something will happen earlier, or something will happen on the 31st or something will never happen.
“There is no final decision in this moment. We need all these players for the games and our training sessions and he is part of it.”
There are a host of clubs that are interested in signing him on a loan deal which include the likes of Roma, Napoli, Sporting Lisbon and few others.
