According to reports in France, Arsenal defender Mathieu Debuchy is keen to leave Gunners and join a London rival before the close of the current transfer window.
The 31-year old is speculated to leave Emirates this summer as his future at the club remained unclear. However, he is keen to stay in England if possible in London to continue his career, according to Get French Football News.
The French international is now considered as surplus to Wenger’s requirements going into the new season as he has plenty of young options in the defense and is ready to sell the player this summer.
Debuchy has fell behind in the pecking order with the emergence of Hector Bellerin who is touted as the best young fullback in Europe. Since making a move to Emirates from NewCastle in 2014 for £12 million, the French International has only managed 22 appearances for the North London club.
The player has spent the second half of last season on loan at French outfit Bordeaux but failed to make an impact as he suffered an injury during his loan spell which restricted him to only 9 Ligue 1 appearances.
He has been linked with the likes of Galatasaray, AS Roma, Bordeaux as well as West Ham earlier in the summer. He was very close to joining Galatasaray on a loan deal but the deal has collapsed at the last moment as hr still remains a Gooner.
The deal for the French defender could be struck in the final hours of the transfer window as the drama continues around his transfer.
