With one comment Arsene Wenger has confirmed every Arsenal fan’s worst fear.
Being an Arsenal fan is not easy at the best of times. But this summer, life as a Gooner has been particularly difficult.

During the current transfer window, Manchester United have already brought in a superstar striker and completed the signing of world’s most expensive footballer Paul Pogba. Manchester City are only halfway through Pep Guardiola’s first spending spree. Chelsea have signed last season’s best Premier League midfielder and one of Europe’s most in-demand strikers.
And what about Arsenal? Granit Xhaka side, they have signed a lad from Bolton and a kid from Japan.
Understandably, Arsene Wenger’s lack of appetite for new purchases has left Gooners all over the world enormously frustrated. That’s why many of them are desperately hoping the rumours linking Leicester’s Riyad Mahrez with a move to Emirates are true.
Hence the above clip, which shows one such Arsenal supporter asking Wenger if he is really is going to sign Mahrez.
“Are we going to sign Mahrez?”, he enquires, pleadingly.
And Wenger’s response?
A classic Wenger-esque shrug of the shoulders, a cheeky grin and the words… “We have plenty of players.”
With Gooners going mad over the lack of a forward signing this summer, one player who has been heavily linked to the North Londoners – Leicester’s Riyad Mahrez – earlier today was at the centre of rumours that he’s on his way to Chelsea.
The rumours had been sparked by @AlessandroLdn, an Italian based in London, who had an interview with new Blues boss Antonio Conte on Monday.
During his time with Conte, @AlessandroLdn spotted Mahrez in west London. He even posted pictures of the sighting on social media.
Moreover, he also reported that he was told Chelsea are trying to sign Mahrez.
If Wenger’s comments are to be believed then it’s all over! Arsenal no more in the race for Riyad Mahrez.
