Kevin De Bruyne, remember him Chelsea fans? Once deemed as surplus to requirement, De Bruyne has gone to become a superstar in Bundesliga with Wolfsburg.
The Belgian attacking midfield player is tipped to make his move to Premier League next season and Chelsea were tipped as one of the potential suitors.
However, De Bruyne has squashed all the hopes of his former side to resign him in the summer. Speaking with Bild, De Bruyne revealed his real desires of staying as far away as possible from Chelsea and Jose Mourinho.
De Bryune said: ‘I think, to be honest, that I would not return to Chelsea as long as he [Mourinho] is in charge. I know that I like the Bundesliga, and it always did me good.
‘But I don’t fear to return to England, or to play in Spain. I believe I can make it there.
‘You can’t compare my time at Chelsea with what is now.
‘If it’s like that [with Munich interested] then Bayern have to talk to Wolfsburg. Then those responsible will know what the deal is.’
These comments have literally ruled Chelsea out from the race to sign the Wolfsburg star, who was labelled as unsellable by his current team. De Bruyne left Chelsea to join Wolfsburg in January 2014 for a fee of £18million.
Since then, De Bruyne has become a real star managing to have more than 20 assists this season. For now, Manchester City are the team in poll position to sign the talented Belgian.
However, we can expect lots of team battling it out to prize De Bruyne away from Bundesliga this summer.
