Chelsea striker Bertrand Traore is set to join Dutch giants Ajax on a season-long loan deal, according to the reports from Dutch media outlet De Telegraaf.
The 20-year old who made his debut for the Blues back in December last season have been impressive and has caught the eyes of various clubs. He finished the season with four goals in 16 appearances for the Blues.
Meanwhile, Ajax are in the market in search of a striker as their key target man Arek Milik moved to Napoli to replace Gonzalo Higuain. The Dutch club are going to shell out only £1.7m to sign Traore on loan for the season as they sold Milik for a massive £30m to Napoli.
The Burkina Faso international have drawn interest from Ajax back in January also when the Dutch club tried but failed to sign him.
Ajax coach Peter Bosz knows Traore well, having worked with him at Vitesse Arnhem from 2013 to 2015 while on loan from Chelsea. He scored 16 goals in 14 Eredivisie appearances at Vitesse.
The player is expected to be available for Ajax’s Champions league play-off match against FC Rostov on Tuesday. However, the club is still interested in signing Liverpool misfit Mario Balotelli.
