According to reports, France Didier Deschamps has revealed that Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Hugo Lloris has left the French national team setup temporarily to join Manchester United.
Manchester United who had earlier held discussions with Real Madrid over the selling of David De Gea are eyeing a solid replacement of the Spaniard. Hugo Lloris has been a target of the Premier League giants since a long time and now it seems they are on the brink to rope in the star goalkeeper.
The Red Devils have already agreed terms to sign a French striker Anthony Martial from AS Monaco for a reported club record transfer fee of 80 million Euros. Deschamps was the one who had earlier revealed the departure of Martial from the national camp. Thus, it is understood that United are closing in for the siganture of Hugo Lloris.
After Martial’s departure from the French squad earlier today, Deschamps had said: “I have seen Lloris’ name linked with Manchester. He is here but between today and tomorrow others could leave us temporarily.”
Hugo Lloris has four years remaining in his contract with Tottenham Hotspur but Manchester United have showed with their bid for Martial that they have enough money in the bank to throw around.
It was reported that Manchester United might consider a move for Real Madrid custodian Keylor Navas plus cash from the club but if Hugo Lloris deal materialises Navas might get out of the club’s plan.
It is up to Tottenham Hotspur now if they actually want to sell their star goalkeeper this summer. Earlier the club had claimed that they are not ready to sell their asset to any club, but Deschamp’s statement have completely changed the scenario.
Manchester United at present looks the busiest side so far before the deadline day as they are ona spending spree. They have already released Javier Hernandez to Bayer Leverkusen and Adnan Januzaj on loan to Borussia Dortmund.
