According to the leading German newspaper SportBild, Manchester City have agreed to sign Kevin De Bruyne after Wolfsburg decided to accept a massive £50million bid from the Citizens. Bild can confirm that De Bruyne has agreed personal terms with the Manchester based club in a whopping £270k-a-week wage.
Once the transfer will be completed, De bruyne will become City’s most expensive signing ever beating their previous £49million capture of Raheem Sterling earlier in the summer.
De Bruyne was a long-term target for City with Manchester United being one of the several other clubs being linked with the Belgian playmaker. De bruyne, 24 enjoyed a massive last season where he finished with most assists in Bundesliga putting him on the global map of being one of the best playmakers in the modern game.
Is De Bruyne a City kind of player?
De Bruyne’s playing style would allow him to easily slot in Manuel Pellegrini’s system. Playing with a three-man attacking line where David Silva is the key, De Bruyne can find himself playing on the right side of attacking three alongside Silva and Raheem Sterling.
With De Bruyne in their side, City might will be tipped the out and out favorites for the Premier League title and perhaps this will be the season where they might want to extend their ambitions from the domestic league and focus on going all the way in the Champions League.
