According to L’Equipe, Manchester United are all set to offer €14million for AS Monaco’s highly rated right back Fabinho. The 21-years old player has come through the youth ranks of Brazilian club Flumense.
Manchester United have been forced to look at Fabinho following Dani Alves’ decision to stay with Barcelona and Nathaniel Clyne looking more and more like Liverpool bound. Louis Van Gaal is desperate to add a right-back to his side after using Antonio Valencia as a makeshift full-back throughout last season.
Fabinho is seen as one of the most promising right-backs in the game at the moment and will be value for money at €14million (£10million).
Fabinho has previous loan spells with Rea Madrid B side and the senior side. Fabinho made his Real Madrid debut back in 2013 while coming on as a substitute for Fabio Coentrao. Fabinho has spent last two seasons on loan with the French side Monaco.
After spending two successful seasons at the Ligue 1 side, Fabinho joined Monaco on a permanent deal last month. However, Fabinho’s financial constraints will see them accept a sizable bid for the 21-year old right-back.
Signing Fabinho would bring a lot of stability for Manchester United who do not have a recognizable right-back in their ranks since Van Gaal does not trust Rafael’s abilities to play at the highest level.
United are helped with the fact that, Monaco are keen to get the heavy earners off their books as early as possible.
Radamel Falcao has already sealed his loan move to Chelsea and their left-back Layvin Kurzawa, rated at £15million is a long-term target for Arsenal.
