According to reports from Daily Record, French club Monaco have expressed their interest in signing Manchester United defender Marcos Rojo.

The 26-year old is one of the top players that are expected to leave Old Trafford alongside Bastian Schweinsteiger by the end of current transfer window.

Despite joining Manchester United two seasons ago for a twisted €20 million from Sporting Lisbon, the Argentine has failed to make an impact at Old Trafford over the last two years.

José Mourinho have already bought Eric Bailly for £30 million earlier in the summer to strengthen the defense. The new manager is reportedly keen to add an experienced defender to his squad before the end of current transfer window.

However, Mourinho should sell some of his players before going fir new signings as the Red Devils have already spent a massive £150 million in the current summer spending spree.

The United hierarchy are willing to accept the bid for Rojo as the club wants to make room to add the desired experienced defender to the squad.

United currently have only Bailly, Chris Smalling, and Daley Blind as their options to their central defense and with Rojo expected to leave the club, Mourinho is keen to add a new defender to keep more options going into the season.

Mourinho is keen on Southampton’s José Fonte as well as Monaco’s Fabinho as he is set to finish his squad overhaul.
