The Big 2 in La Liga have not been able to get a grip on the season and have not been consistent with their performances. Real Madrid failed to take any advantage of the slip from Barcelona as they were held only to a 2-2 draw against Gary Neville’s Valencia.
Madrid looked the better side on the day but some ordinary substitutions from manager Rafa Benitez saw them take only a point from the game. Benitez chose not to play either Isco or James Rodriguez on the night and also took of Karim Benzema, one of the brightest players on the night.
His appointment at the helm of the club was not greeted too enthusiastically by the demanding crowd at the Bernabeau and the manager is now in danger of losing his job according to Marca a Spanish newspaper.
According to the paper, the club is officially scheduled to have a meeting today with the members and is likely to make a decision to send Rafa out of the club.
The results not been poor under Rafa in the season but they have not been able to dominate the domestic league. The expectations at the club are high and this might result in the club trying to shake things up for the players.
It is also expected that Zinedine Zidane is one of the forerunners for the job and would make a great manager especially with the amount of respect he has from the players.
Jose Mourinho who was just sacked from Chelsea is now on a sabbatical but will surely be licking his lips hoping for a Los Blancos re-union.
