One of the most prolific strikers in recent times, Luis Suarez has formed a sensational partenership at Barcelona alongside Neymar and Lionel Messi and has been scoring goals for fun.

But he Uruguayan comes with his own baggage as he gets his first ban in a Barcelona t-shirt. Barcelona won an ill tempered Copa del Rey derby against Espanyol on Wednesday and the No. 9 apparently taunted the opposition after the game inside the tunnel.

It was reported that the ex Liverpool hit man called the Espanyol team mates ‘waste of space’ in a tunnel row that now sees him banned for 2 Copa del Rey matches. However, the Spanish club have already confirmed that they will appeal the sanction in the coming days.

Suarez was also mentioned by name in the referees report after the match and this might have added to the tunnel row that now sees Suarez banned for a couple of matches.

This kind of a ban is not new for the striker as he was banned more than a couple of times for actually biting opponents on the field. But this time, it was not as bad and there are arguments that he might not have deserved a ban.

The Barcelona coach was not keen on continuing the conversation when asked if his player deserved the ban. He said, “It does not depend on me whether Luis Suarez gets a punishment or not,”

Barcelona face Granada in the opening fixture of next weekend’s La Liga matches. They will hope to take all three points and put pressure on their rivals in the title race.
